Cher To Do The Ice Bucket Challenge Next Month!

The "Ice Bucket Challenge" has had a huge presence in the worlds of celebrity and social media over the last month.

It sees a nominated person have a bucket of icy water thrown over their head. Why? To raise funds for and awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Once the nominated person has had the freezing-cold water thrown over them, they then donate a small sum to a ALS charity and then nominate further people to take the challenge. (However, a nominated person can instead forfeit the challenge by way of skipping the water part and making a larger donation to a ALS charity.)

Cher's Latest Album Logs Its 24th Week On The Billboard 200

CherCher's latest studio album 'Closer To The Truth' returns to the Billboard 200 this week, at #70.

Cher: I Haven't Looked In The Mirror In Years

AARP The Magazine's Alanna Nash reports that whilst "reveling in a hit album and a sold-out tour", Cher opened up about "her staying power, her private world and why she avoids mirrors":

Late at night, she gets social, holed up in the bedroom of her eye-popping Moorish-castle-meets-Venetian-palazzo high on a bluff in Malibu. Stretched out on a bed that once belonged to the wife of Rudolph Valentino, Cher turns to Twitter to share what's on her mind. Nothing seems off-limits. (An example: "How did you celebrate Madonna's birthday?" someone asks. Cher's answer: "I got a colonic.")

Late at night, she also chats by phone with reporters. "I'm eating while talking to you," she says in that famous throaty contralto that long ago made her the Goddess of Pop. A giggle. "Peanut butter. Crunchy, of course!"

sex symbol Cher
Cher's 'Dressed To Kill Tour' will resume next month for its second leg - which will see the chart-topping songstress don five new outfits created by long-time costume designer Bob Mackie.

The legendary performer will be wearing a newly-created opening costume on the tour's return but went on social networking site Twitter yesterday to express her worry that - even for her - it may be too revealing: "Finished at Bob's. I'm really nervous regarding the opening costume. It's so bare in a place that I'm not used to.
