Cher's 86-Year-Old Mom Georgia Holt Hits Billboard Country Charts With Debut Album!

Cher's Mom Georgia Holt released her debut album 'Honky Tonk Woman' on 30 April, and it has hit two of Billboard's album charts!

The album has gone in at number 43 on Billboards Top Country Albums chart and number 13 on Billboards Heatseekers Albums chart.

As it suggests, the former chart showcases the week's top-selling country albums in the US.
The latter chart, the Heatseekers Albums chart, is a list of the week's top-selling albums in the U.S. by new or developing acts, defined as those who have never appeared on the top 100 of the Billboard 200 or the top 10 of R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Country Albums, Latin Albums, Christian Albums or Gospel Albums. I'm willing to bet a lot of money that not many 86-year-olds have found themselves on the Heatseekers chart!

Cher herself has of course had many placements on various Billboard charts throughout the past half-a-century(!) but the Top Country Albums chart and Heatseekers Album chart are two that she hasn't managed to find herself on; she hasn't (yet) released an all-country album for it to be able to place on the former chart and the 1993 formation of the Heatseekers chart meant that she had debuted her chart career three decades too early for eligibility on that one.

Update: A 'Billboard' article has revealed that, according to Nielsen Soundscan, 'Honky Tonk Woman' has sold 1,000 copies.
